Our Story
Founded in 2023 by a group of lifelong cycling enthusiasts, Put Me Back On My Bike was born out of a passion for cycling and a commitment to quality service.
With years of cycling experience, our founders recognised the need for a reliable, customer-focused cycle workshop in Sheffield. Today, we proudly offer professional bike repair services, helping fellow cyclists keep their bikes in perfect condition.
By honoring the words of the late professional World Road Race Champion, Tommy Simpson, 'Put me back on my bike,' our priority is to get you back on your bike, and riding again.
Meet Ed
PM-BOMB’s proprietor, Ed Joy, is a lifelong cyclist who began time-trialling and road racing in and around Sheffield at the age of 15.
He rode with Sheffield Phoenix and later the Brook CC, eventually becoming one of the founding members of Team Sheff Rec, whose aim was to get Sheffield City Council Recreation workers “on their bikes”.
Having toured Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Australasia, and the Far East on his bike, and after co-founding “About the Bike” in Dalston, London, and running it for eight years, he knows a thing or two about bikes and brings his passion and enthusiasm back to his native Sheffield.
Meet Chris
Chris came to cycling in his mid-twenties focusing mainly on cyclo-cross, and having participated in the ultra-hard three-peaks cycle cross race in North Yorkshire several times, so he knows a bit about pain!
Chris is employed as an Ophthalmic Scientist for a German Manufacturing Company and spends 1-2 days a week working at PM-BOMB.
Meet Pete
Pete like Ed was a member of the Brook Cycling Club. Though a roadie, like Chris his main discipline was cyclo-cross and to be fair he wasn’t too bad for a big lad!
Pete is a Visiting Professor at both Loughborough and Leeds Beckett Universities through his work in the environmental sector. He is life-long cycling enthusiast and entrepreneur, and is currently Group CEO of Cura Terrae, a group of environmental companies.
He helps in the shop in his limited spare time.
